Nursery Admissions

STEP Academy Trust is the admissions authority for all STEP Academies, including Benedict Academy.  If you are considering  Benedict Academy, we would welcome a visit to show you around our school.

Admissions to Benedict Academy

Children may start in our nursery the term after their third birthday. We offer 15 hours per week from 8:30-11:30am. We admit pupils to the Nursery in September, January and April of each academic year. Mid-term admissions could also be allocated mid term where places are available.

Parents and carers need to apply directly to us for a Nursery place for your child. Please collect an application form from the desk in the main Academy Office, fill it in, and return it to us there.

We follow London Borough of Merton council's guidance on offering places.

We give priority to:

  • Children in public care
  • Children with a social or medical need, often supported by an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP)
  • Siblings of pupils already in the school
  • children living closest to the school.

We recommend that you put your child's name on the waiting list once they are two years old. To do this, ask for an application form at the Academy Office, fill it in and return it to us there. You do not need to provide any proof of your permanent address to go on the waiting list.

Please note that you can only accept a place at one Nursery, and that the offer of a place in the Nursery does not guarantee your child a place in the Reception class.
